I find that me/my brain is vulnerable and likely to make dumb mistakes immeadiately I return from a holiday/break from the market.I return from a break raring to go and truly wanting to trade.I find it is best to resist this urge ,show a bit of control and just watch the market/demo trade for a while.I do not place any live trades ie for money ,until I am attuned to the market, back in the goove, acclimatised and comfortable with the market. For example, after a break at Christmas of a week ,I needed a day of just watching the charts. However, when taking an extended holiday of 5-6 weeks I needed and choose to watch the charts and not trade any money for a good week.Of course, everyones mind/memory will work differently and will acclimitatise and get attuned at different speeds,I'm just saying upon returning from a break be especially patient and wait for opportunities. As the saying/advert/truism says," All good things come to those who wait."

5 or 6 WEEKS Huh? what kind of employement do you have? wow must be nice Grin I think that is a true statement in the aspect of mental control, if a person tells me they want to trade, and wants to know how the first thing I tell them is "tie your shoes when you wake up then take them off, then start your day for 30 days, to build mental toughness".........and you know what? that's also true on all levels if you notice after major holidays especially in the US sometimes when the market opens they open with huge gaps, if you were on the wrong side you lost big Undecided. speaking of breaks does anybody notice that every time the market opens on sunday the the Yen gaps? It seems like you can buy Yen across the board every sunday and won't lose. I think it's good that you are exercising control that is very good.
